What do you call this?

Is there a term for the phenomenon that people are well-read and highly trained in certain areas of knowledge, but fail to put to practice their knowledge in real life, e.g. in family, at work, in the everyday life?

E.g. A civil engineer ,who knows how to use all types of project management tools, but is always messy about family matters.

E.g. A doctor who leads a heart attack prone lifestyle.

E.g. A sociologist who is a slave to social constructs.

E.g. A public prosecutor who flouts the criminal rules.

Hypocrisy is not counted as an (acceptable) answer.

This is a serious question, btw.
And it is not limited to professionals. Just that it's easier to use professionals to illustrate my point.

It seems this phenomenon is rather... wasteful.

All those resources (time, money, effort etc) that have gone into the relevant education and training... Only use 'at work', but not applied in other spheres of one's life.
